Well, I have definitely had lessons now in being an at home mom. I have learned to look at it a little differently. I was reading another blog from a Christian mom and she said that it isn't just staying home, but that we are homemakers. Say it again with me - HOME MAKERS. So, looking at it like that with God's help. This house will be a home to my son, my husband and I and not just a house we come home to.
I have learned that I am continually working to develop more discipline to control myself in certain situations that become frustrating and to keep a quiet spirit. In doing so, patience will come...and as we all know, patience is a virtue that we continually allow God to develop in us.
I read this article this morning on how to keep a quiet spirit and really about how to talk to your kids. I am praying that this will be something that I learn while at home with 3 boys (Noah, and then Susie boys Max & Eli).
While I am learning we have had a lot of fun the past two weeks. Below are some pictures to tell the story. We took Noah to his very first theater movie...
.KUNG FU PANDA 2!
| It was in 3D, so we all had to wear funny glasses! |
| Pool Time...of course it goes at the end of the slide! |
| Paper Mache Bowls...painting them was AWESOME! |
Then, we made brownies. Thank Goodness that Aunt Gracie stopped by to show us her cool tricks....we will share one with you: If you spray some cling wrap with cooking spray and then lay it down on your brownie dough, you can manipulate and flatten it without sticking to it!!!
| AUNT Grace also had to stop Noah from eating all of the butterscotch chips. |
We drove to Pocatello to pick up a new entertainment center that I had found on Craigslist...and PAPA was working there! So, we detoured to visit his fun house!
| Could someone please tell him that not every face has to be silly, and then could someone remind me that I shouldn't slouch!!!! I don't think I actually have a waist here... |
| What do you think you are doing??!! Your mom would kill me! |
| |
| Max trying to show how SQUISHED we were in Aunt Grace's pickup! HaHa! |
Noah and I went to the zoo by ourselves later that day, and the baby zebra was only 6 days old!!!
| I think he should be in the monkey portion...he thinks he is one! |
| MONKEY! |
He loved this particular goat this day...
| Let's just chat here, Mr. Goat! You sit on that side all crooked like, and I will sit over here...seems reasonable, right?! |
| I love my Noah so much! I thank God every day for the blessing he gave me. |
And, again with the water days. This time I put up a tent so that there were not wet feet running in and out to get warm if it got windy. It did get windy, and into the tent on their blankets they ran.
Well, that's it for the last two weeks...join us again in a week for more fun n' games.
