Life is life and if there were one thing I wish is that I had had, it would be a friend from when I was younger that had remained my friend for 20 years...I guess the only friend (besides God) that has known me that long and loved me through it all is my MOM! :) I love you, Mom.
Menu-Planning, Discipline and Re-Finance...those are the three phrases running (literally) through my brain today. We had to paint all this weekend to get the shed/lean-to/carport whatever you call it up to snuff with no peeling paint and UGH! I am so proud of Mike for really pulling through to finish this. I could not have done this one by myself. I normally LOVE painting, but...not this time....it was a have-to, not a want-to.
So, menu this week:
Breakfast Night (that was tonight) w/Bacon, Eggs & Homemade Breakfast Potatoes (YEA! The only way to go if you ask me and I love my new pink pan - thanks Babe!)
Spaghetti
Chicken Enchilada Casserole
Homemade Pizza
Hamburgers
Re-Finance: Barring anything unforeseen we CLOSE on Wednesday!
Discipline: Wow, it is so different for everyone isn't it? I think of it as a tool to SAVE my child's life as he is growing older. To make him a man that will be self-motivated, results driven, honest, fair, good & not a whiner....Is that too logical of a way to look at it? :) I have always been told, "God said it, that settles it!" It really doesn't matter if you believe it or not, because it is GOD! I would like it to be that way in my house (is that too strict?!) where Mom said it, that settles it. I don't really care if you believe it or not....
Okay, enough about the things giving me a SLIGHT bit of anxiety this week. Things I am considering doing:
I HATE fryers, but love homemade fries. I HATE the oily smell of fryers, but love homemade fries. I think I will hook one up to be used outside! I need an entire outdoor kitchen...don't you think, Mom?!
Painting all trim in my house white (now) during Noah's naps...then deciding what all the wall colors should be....in a few months.
Finding crops that can be started mid-July so I can still have the garden I wanted but haven't gotten to. :)
Sewing new curtains. The ones I sewed about 6 years ago, TOTALLY BORED with now. Anyone want Good, handmade, but now BORING to me curtains? :)
Trying the iced coffee recipe HERE at one of my favorite blogs!! Now, that I am home all the time and can't afford the Starbucks....I CRAVE iced coffees with a hint o'vanilla.
Well, that's enough from this house tonight....let's end on a positive note: A picture from the files this week.
