February Projects

We have been reading the Very Hungry Caterpillar a lot lately and I had seen a Pinterest link to a project to go along with it...so, we made a caterpillar and then took it one step further and made some fruit.

Noah used his hands for the body and a potato to stamp the head.  We had fun Googly Eyes (yes, ask him to say that because it is super cute and makes Mike smile!) to put on the head.

For the fruit Noah finger painted a couple different pages all over with a color and then Mommie just cut the fruit out of those finger paint pages.

Now he can read the story with the fruit and the caterpillar.  Next comes making the butterfly!

Next, we decided to melt some crayon shaving in wax paper for some hearts to hang around.  Noah helped with the shaving on the crayons and then also with seeing if they were melted enough between swipes.  (No, this was not done on the carpet...that's just where we ended up cutting them out.)  Thank goodness for old comics I had saved up downstairs to put our wax paper between while melting with the iron.)

Happy Valentine Decorating!  Now, we just have to hang them up around the house!
