This last weekend we went to the fair! Most people would think the rides, the entertainment, the food...well, yes...the food!
We went on Saturday morning and walked all of the animal barns so that Noah could just enjoy the animals. He wanted to pet the cows, and did. He wanted to poke at the goats, and did. He wanted the pink to snort and oink...and it did. I think he wanted to ride away on a pony...there was a little girl on one helping her mommy. I realize that our son is a city kid, and I don't like it. :) He threw a little rock at a calf and we had to tell him that isn't very funny and apologize to the little kids that were parading it around. Needless to say I think he could sit down in a pasture and just watch them and run around them for hours!
After the animals we decided to go and get some lunch. I of course wanted the pile of curly fries and the corn dog, and Mike wanted to try something at the beef barn. I thought that I would share my corn dog with Noah since he always just eats a few bites and then is done with it. It was probably very good for my figure that he decided to eat pretty much the whole thing!! I ate about ONE bite and then finished off the fries! That little monkey is his momma's child for sure! LOVE HIM!
On the walk to the car he was so excited to eat a small piece of taffy that we had picked up for free at a booth. I love how young he still is in that sense. He didn't need all the gadgets and newest yummy treats. He was content to walk through the animals, walk up and down the camper trailers we went and paroused, and then eat a piece of taffy while we trekked back to the car. He promptly fell asleep when we took off in the car while reading his Toy Story book....he was exhausted. He slept from 1:00 PM, slept through Mike carrying him into the house, undressing him, laying him back down and then until 3:05 PM.
As for Mike and I, we just enjoyed the company of each other and dreaming of our own camper trailer someday!
